Secondary source

A secondary source interprets and analyses events and issues. A secondary source is one step removed from a primary, or first hand, account of an event. Most journal articles and books are secondary sources. Examples include:

  • a journal article about the effects of global warming.
  • a book about the gender roles during World War II.
  • a web site with literacy statistics.
