     Browse searching in MNCAT

Using the Browse search option in MNCAT is like physically browsing in a bookstore; it allows you to see items similar in type or "next to each other on the shelf." You may wish to use Browse if you're not sure about an exact title, author or call number, but think that similar information may jog your memory.

Browse searching in MNCAT provides you with an alphabetical listing so you can view the entries that come both before and after the terms you entered, allowing you further choices. There are several types of searches you can do with the browse function, but the three listed below are the most common.
