    Citing journal and magazine articles


    Scholarly journal and magazine articles


    When using the APA style to cite articles in scholary journals and popular magazines, include the following information:

    • author(s) of the article
    • year of publication
    • full title of the article (include subtitle if present)
    • title of the journal or magazine in which the article appears
    • volume and issue numbers of the journal or magazine in which the article appears (Note: The journal title and the volume number are both italicized.)
    • page numbers in which the article appeared

    Examples:

    Mylod, D. E., Whitman, T. L., & Borkowski, J. G. (1997).  
    

      Predicting adolescent mothers' transition to adulthood.

      Journal of Research on Adolescence, 7, 457-478.

    Keil, K. L. (1998, January February). An Intimate profile of 

      generation X. American Enterprise, a National Magazine

      of Politics, Business, and Culture, 9, 49 - 51, 59.
