Citing Web sites
Web documents share many of the same elements found in a print document (e.g.,
authors, titles, dates). Therefore, the citation for a Web document often follows
a format similar to that for print, with some information omitted and some added.
When using MLA style to cite Web sites and other Internet resources, include
the following information:
- the name of the document on the site
- date the document was produced or last revised (if known)
- place the document was produced
- individual or organization that produced the site
- the date you accessed the site
- the URL of the site
Example:
Minnesota Planning. "The 1998 Legislature Amended
The Review and Comment Process." May 1998.
Local Planning Assistance,7 Sept. 1999.
