    Citing journal and magazine articles


    Scholarly journal and magazine articles


    When using the MLA style to cite articles in scholary journals and popular magazines, include the following information:

    • author(s) of the article
    • full title of the article (include subtitle if present)
    • title of the journal or magazine in which the article appears
    • volume and issue numbers of the journal or magazine in which the article appears
    • year of publication
    • page numbers in which the article appeared

    Examples:

    Scholarly journal article

    
    Mylod, Deirdre E., Thomas L. Whitman, and John G.  Borkowski. 
              "Predicting Adolescent Mother's  Transition to Adulthood." 
              Journal of Research on Adolescence 7 (1997): 457-78.


    Magazine article
    Keil, Kristi Lockhart. "An Intimate Profile of Generation X." 
              American Enterprise, a National Magazine of Politics,
              Business, and Culture. Jan.-Feb. 1998:  49+
