Finding Articles: Introduction

The U of M Libraries subscribes to over 45,000 journals, magazines and newspapers. Many articles are available in full-text. These full-text articles and cannot be accessed for free through Google.

Magazine and journal articles contain the most up-to-date research in any given field because they take less time to produce and publish than most books. Also, because they are short, they often focus on particular aspects of a topic, while books tend to cover topics more broadly.

In this module, we focus on understanding the differences between kinds of articles and developing strategies for finding articles for your research.
