Citing full-text articles within online databases
Online articles
Use these guidelines when citing journal articles found full-text within an
online periodical index. When using MLA style to cite full- text periodical
articles from an electronic source, include the following information:
- author(s)
- full title of the article (include subtitle if present)
- title of the journal, magazine, or newspaper
- volume and issue numbers of the journal or magazine
- date of the publication (which may include month and day)
- page numbers
- for a work from a subscription service: the name of the service
- name of any company, institution, or organization sponsoring or associated
with the Web site
- date when the researcher accessed the source
- electronic address, or URL, of the source or, for a subscription service,
the URL of the service's main page (if known) or the keyword assigned by the
service
