    Citing web sites

Web documents share many of the same elements found in a print document (e.g., authors, titles, dates). Therefore, the citation for a web document often follows a format similar to that for print, with some information omitted and some added.

When using APA style to cite web sites and other internet resources, include the following information:

    • the name of the document on the site
    • date the document was produced or last revised (if known)
    • place the document was produced
    • individual or organization that produced the site
    • the date you accessed the site
    • the URL of the site

    Example:

The 1998 legislature amended the review and comment process.
